Director of Technical Infrastructure and Network Services
Franklin University is currently seeking a Director of Technical Infrastructure and Network Services. The Director is responsible for developing, executing and leading the overall network infrastructure resource plan for Franklin University. The Director will lead the Technology Infrastructure and Network Services group of Franklin University in providing technical expertise, guidance and support for strategic business initiatives and maintain or enhance student, faculty, staff, business and campus operational services. The Director will also collaborate with Business Partners, Technology Leadership Team peers, staff, vendors and the CIO to develop and manage solutions or services aligned with Franklin University’s Strategic Directives and overall Informational Technology Plan to meet business growth or performance objectives.
The specific responsibilities of the Director will be Informational Technology planning, administration and network resource operations management, manage and facilitate customer service, oversee and participate in communications and relationship management and lead project and vendor management. This position will also be responsible for managing and developing the staff which include includes Network Connectivity – voice and data, Linux/Unix, the Windows team, Storage and Data Retention, Virtualization and Web Support.
The Director position requires a broad technical base, which includes Windows, Linux/Unix, Cisco, Oracle, SQL, Web Services, Java J2EE, LDAP and Intrusion Detection and Prevention. The experience needed includes managing large teams and 5-7 years of IT leadership and management experience of a team of 6 or more in network systems infrastructure engineering within a higher education, government or professional service industry with 24/7 operations servicing geographically dispersed facilities and diverse customer groups. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to implement/support large scale system changes. Educational requirements are a B.S. in Computer Science, with a M.S. in Computer Science or M.B.A. preferred, from an accredited college or university.
